Candidates making a difference in Postmasburg
Rufco
has created opportunities for unemployed youth through their participation in the national Youth Employment Service (YES) programme. The 2023 intake of YES trainees attended an In-House Induction, Safety & Onboarding Presentation, presented by the Safety Officer. He ensured they are equipped with the necessary knowledge to attend to each task in the safest manner and encouraged zero harm. Rufco is committed to providing these candidates with every opportunity to learn, grow and stretch to the highest level of their ability and potential and are looking forward to making this programme a huge success!
During the 12-month period, all trainees will gain valuable on the job experience on which they can build their careers moving forward. The programme was launched with the aim to improve the candidates’ chances at long-term quality employment, therefor they are also receiving on the job training and skills needed to make a success in the future. With the consistent high youth unemployment rate, supporting initiatives like the YES is crucial when it comes to the empowerment of local youth.
The team decided to kick off the programme with their first two community outreach projects – cleaning along the Postmasburg / Beeshoek Road and assisting the Postmasburg Clinic with their aim to neaten up around the clinic.
